ROBERT D. TIERMAN handles litigation and transactional work for a wide range of small to medium sized real estate and other businesses in New York and New Jersey. For over twenty-five years in New York, and over ten years in New Jersey, Bob also has represented the boards of hundreds of cooperatives and condominiums.
Bob clerked for the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court and later served as an associate at two New York based law firms, principally handling corporate and securities matters, and commercial litigation. Bob co-founded a law partnership, which in five years grew to eight attorneys principally engaged in the representation of scores of boards of cooperatives and condominiums.
Bob become a partner of this Firm, where he continued his representation of boards of cooperatives and condominiums, as well as other real estate and business clients. Bob later formed the firm of Litwin & Tierman, based in Hackensack, New Jersey. There, Bob continued the representation of New York based boards and other clients, and expanded his practice to also represent New Jersey clients.
Since 2005, Bob has regularly written the “Ask the Attorney” column for Habitat, which is the leading trade magazine for the co-op/condo community in the New York metropolitan area. He is periodically quoted on real estate matters in The New York Times and other publications.
