DANIEL I. GOLDBERG is a graduate of Indiana University (B.A. 1990). He earned a law degree from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, MO (J.D. 1993), where he served on the School's Moot Court Board. Additionally, he earned a degree in technology and human affairs, with an emphasis on environmental policy, from the Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (M.S. 1993).

Dan's practice focuses on civil litigation and employment law. In the area of civil litigation, Dan represents clients in the following areas: general commercial and complex business disputes, including disputes arising out of commercial paper and factoring agreements, preference and fraudulent transfer claims, unfair competition, agency and distributorship agreements, intellectual property, construction claims and insurance coverage; employment law, including discrimination, covenants not to compete, and fiduciary duties; professional malpractice, negligence, and products liability; and, complex landlord tenant disputes.

In addition, Dan advises corporate clients on all aspects of employment law, including wage and hour and discrimination issues and restrictive covenants. He drafts employment handbooks, employment agreements, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, and restrictive covenants. Dan further performs employment investigations, defends administrative claims and actions asserting claims under discrimination laws, and litigates restrictive covenants.

Dan has experience handling general corporate and not-for-profit matters, including negotiating and drafting contribution, operating and indemnification agreements, by-laws, personal guarantees, and NDAs, and drafting minutes and resolutions. His expertise includes advising not-for-profits on all aspects of corporate governance, including obtaining tax-exempt status, and counseling clients with regard to Attorney General oversight.

Dan is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and Illinois, and has experience with both hearings and trials before administrative agencies, and state and federal courts. Dan has experience with appeals and has successfully argued cases before New York's Appellate Term and Appellate Division.
